YORK, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg opened the 2022 campaign with three games in four days, culminating with a road matchup at York (Pa.) to end the weekend. The arduous early-season slate appeared to have caught up with the Lions (0-1-2) in their 4-1 loss to the Spartans (1-1) on Sunday night, Sept. 4.

The home team struck first less than 10 minutes into the contest when Makayla Harper found the back of the net off an assist from Anna Morton in the seventh minute.

Penn State Harrisburg responded 15 minutes later, however, when Abigail Frew found enough space to corral a loose ball and one time her shot past York (Pa.) goalkeeper Jacqueline Keogh from nearly 20 yards out and tie things up in the 22nd minute.

The turning point came when the Spartans made a push late in the second half and came away with a pair of goals in the span of two and a half minutes, forcing the Lions to play catch up the rest of the way.

York (Pa.) added one last score to expand its breathing room when Abby Brown netted the team's fourth marker of the night with little more than 26 minutes remaining.
