Multipurpose Turf Field Construction Continues to Progress

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Construction of Penn State Harrisburg's new multipurpose turf field adjacent to the Education Activities Building continues to progress nicely, with phase one of the project set for completion later this spring.

The project includes the installation of turf, fencing, netting, official field lines for multiple sports, new field lighting and the construction of a 16 by 16 foot video scoreboard; much of which has already been completed.

"We couldn't be more excited about this new addition to our campus," said Penn State Harrisburg Director of Athletics Rahsaan Carlton. "This multipurpose field will greatly enhance the overall experience of our students who participate in varsity, intramural and club sport programs. It will also provide us the opportunity to explore a wide array of programming options in the future."

The facility will serve as the new home of Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's soccer when competition resumes and will provide additional practice space for other sport programs at the college.
