Lions' Goalie Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- Penn State Harrisburg's women's goalkeeper Janelle Hammond (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) Defensive Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the time period ending Sunday, Oct. 2.

After splitting time in goal for most of the season with the Lions' Tina Martino (Essington, PA/Interboro), Hammond was forced to play the entire 90 minutes against NEAC rival, SUNYIT, due to injuries to many of her teammates.  The freshman was more than up to the task.  She made one save and worked her first solo shutout of the season against the Wildcats this past Sunday.
