Seven Named to Women´s Soccer All-conference Team; Brown Coach of Year

GANSEVOORT, NY - A school record seven Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer players were named to the 2009 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women's Soccer All-Conference team Wednesday November 4th.  Head coach Mark Brown, who took the 14-2 Lady Lions to their best season in school history, was voted by his peers as the NEAC Coach of the Year for producing an undefeated season in conference play.

Freshman Lindsay McNeal (Hershey, PA/ Hershey), sophomore Corinne Mazzotta (Haddam, CT/Haddam Killingworth), senior Lindsey Stauffer (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt), and freshman Brittany Adams(Dillsburg, PA/Northern) all earned first team honors.  Sophomore Jessi Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn), senior Amanda Basile (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) and sophomore Valerie Calvano (Haymarket, VA/Battlefield) picked up second team admiration.

McNeal, who led her team in points (44) and goals (20), was named the NEAC Player of the Year for her efforts. As a freshman, McNeal has already broken the school record for most career goals and points, as well as most goals and points in a season.

Adams, who was named the NEAC Goalie of the Year, collected seven shutouts on the year, saving 60 shots on goal, while only allowing six goals in 14 games with a .909 save percentage in her debut season.

Mazzotta accumulated eight goals and nine assist from her midfield slot, while Stauffer, one of the top defenders in the NEAC, registered three assists while leading her defense to a 0.69 goals per game percentage.

Manion was the blue and white's second leading scorer with 11 goals and seven assists (29 points) through 16 games while Calvano provided solid defense collecting one goal and three assists throughout the season.

Basile, Penn State Harrisburg's first four-year women's soccer player, earns her first All-Conference honor, assisting on seven goals this season making her Penn State Harrisburg's all-time assist leader.
