Lady Lions Blank Immaculata, 3-0

MIDDLETOWN, PA - After the made penalty kick in the first half by Lady Lion, Lindsay McNeal (Hershey, PA/Hershey), both Penn State Harrisburg and the visiting Mighty Macs of Immaculata University appeared to be equal in every aspect of the game. The stats were not far off from the truth with Immaculata out shooting the Lady Lions 11-9. Penn State Harrisburg´s goal keepers, Angela Gilmore(Millersburg, PA/Millersburg) and Brittany Adams (Dillsburg, PA/Northern), combined for six saves to the four of Mighty Macs´ goalie, Jessica Gaburo. Immaculata had the advantage in corner kicks, 7-6.

In the 71st minute, Allie Rank (Halifax, PA/Halifax) tailed her fourth goal of the season, assisted by Megan Frailey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) and Jessi Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn), to put the Lady Lions up by two. Allison Collins (Mechanicsburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt)added an insurance goal five minutes later to seal the 3-0 victory.

The Lions were able to shut out and outscore their first two opponents of the season, 13-0. This is the first year the Lady Lions were able to start off their season 2-0 since competing on the Division III level.

Rank finished the week with four goals (8 points) while McNeal capped her week off with three goals and one assist (7 points). Frailey ended with two goals and three assists (7 points) and Collins connected for two goals (4 points) on the week.

Harrisburg returns to action Tuesday, September 8, as they travel to Susquehanna University for a 4:00 PM match.
