Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Academic Team. The Lion athletic teams had 89 men and women earn the honor to be on the All-Academic team this year. To make the team, athletes must receive a 3.2 GPA over the course of the entire year.
In the fall the Penn State Harrisburg men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the first Annual Bud Smitley Invitational. The Lion’s hosted Lebanon Valley, Lancaster Bible, Penn Stata Monto-Alt, and McDaniel for the meet. Lebanon Valley finished first, followed by McDaniel, Lancaster Bible, and Penn State Harrisburg. The event unfortunately was cold, rainy, and very muddy but it was a very successful first home meet for the cross country teams.
St. Leonard, Maryland- The 2015 CAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship meet was hosted by St. Mary’s on Saturday, October 31st in St. Leonard, Maryland. The women ran a 6k while the men ran an 8k. Both the Penn State Harrisburg men’s and women’s cross country teams had several individuals place in the championship race.
The 2015 CAC Men's Cross Country Championship meet will be hosted by St. Mary's this Saturday in St. Leonard, Md. Race time for men's 8k is set for 11:30 a.m. at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum.
Gettysburg, Pa.- This morning the Penn State Harrisburg men’s cross country team traveled to Gettysburg College to run in their annual invitational. Overall, the men placed 22nd out of 24 teams.
Carlisle, Pa.- The men competed at the Dickinson Long Short Invitational this morning against some of the top teams in the region. The men had some additions to their squad this week in hopes to strengthen their depth.
St. Mary’s- Yesterday morning the Penn State Harrisburg men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to St. Mary’s College to run in the Second Annual Seahawk Invitational. It was a very warm and muggy morning for the race. The men’s team placed ninth while the women’s team placed eleventh.
York, Pa.- This past weekend the Penn State Harrisburg men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to York College to run in the Sixth Annual Coach Achtzehn Classic. Both teams had runners place in the top fifty.
Annville, Pa.- On Saturday morning both the men’s and women's cross country teams traveled to Lebanon Valley College to race in the Dutchmen Invitational. The Nittany Lions each had individual runners place in the top sixty. As a team, the Lions placed eighth for the men and ninth for the women.
The 2014 CAC Men’s Cross Country Championship featured the closest top-three team finish in conference history. Salisbury snapped York’s three-year reign atop the conference, totaling 42 points to defeat second-place Christopher Newport (50) by eight, followed by York in third with 55 points.
