Ibarra Leads at Gettysburg Invitational

Gettysburg, Pa.- This morning the Penn State Harrisburg men's cross country team traveled to Gettysburg College to run in their annual invitational. Overall, the men placed 22nd out of 24 teams. 

The invitational was for both men and women but unfortunately only the men were able to travel to Gettysburg. The top runner for the Nittany Lions was Junior Alejandro Davila-Ibarra (Harrisburg, Pa. / Harrisburg High School). Ibarra placed 171st with a time of 31:08, out of a total of 240 runners. Close behind him was teammate Vladhimir Theophile (Reading, Pa. / Cherry Hill East High School) who finished with a time of 32:36. Senior Charles Scheick (Douglassville, Pa. / Daniel Boone High School) and Sophomore Ethan Brackbill (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley High School) both finished the race with respectable times of 33:46 and 33:51.The top three finishers at the invitational were Georgetown Run, Salisbury, and Grove City. 

The men have the next two weeks to prepare for the CAC Championships on Saturday October 31st. The race is being held at St. Mary's (Md.) at 11 am.
