LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his efforts in a recent victory over Albright, Penn State Harrisburg's Cooper Wheeler has been named the United East Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Wheeler led the way for the Lions (2-0) in a convincing 8-1 win over Albright on Wednesday evening. The freshman teamed with Andrew Schreck to earn an 8-4 victory in the No. 1 doubles contest before cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 decision in the top singles outing. With the wins, the Red Lion, Pa. native improved to 3-1 overall on the young season.
Penn State Harrisburg is back in action when the team hosts Lebanon Valley at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
