Men's Tennis Falls to Kutztown In Regular Season Finale

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with an 8-1 setback to Division II Kutztown at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon, April 26.

 

Andrew Schreck and Vik Patel accounted for Penn State Harrisburg's lone win, picking up an 8-5 victory in the No. 3 doubles contest. ZiJun Owen Ou and Derwin Merca fell 8-3 in the top doubles outing, while Cooper Wheeler and Clayton Herb suffered an 8-2 defeat in the No. 2 matchup.

 

In singles action, Wheeler fell 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 outing, as did Ou in the second contest. Schreck was bested 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 3 slot, Merca fell 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4 position, Patel dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision in the fifth matchup, and Herb was topped 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 6 contest. 

 

With the regular season now behind them, the Lions (11-7) will turn their attention to the upcoming United East Volt Division Championship Tournament as they host Penn State Abington for semifinal action on Tuesday afternoon.
