Men's Tennis Sweeps Clarks Summit to End Regular Season

HERSHEY, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis team grabbed a 9-0 victory against Clarks Summit at the Hershey Racquet Club on Tuesday afternoon, April 26.

 

The Lions came away with all three doubles matches, as Caleb Fockens and Sachin Venkatesh defeated Harrison Michel and Julian Posey 6-1 in the top contest before Nick Rohn and Andrew Schreck conquered Evan Michel and L. Hungate 6-0 in the No. 2 matchup. In the No. 3 contest, Evan Stillwell and Rishikesh Singh took the win by default. 

 

The Blue & White saw more success in singles, which started with Aaron Krasley defeating E. Michel 6-4 in the top singles contest. Derwin Merca went over H. Michel 6-0 in the No. 2 matchup, while Evan Stillwell earned a 6-1 win against Posey in the No. 3 outing. Tyler Haubert rolled in the No. 4 match, besting Hungate 6-0, while Ebram Samouel handled D. Sage 6-0 in the fifth contest. Singh got the win by default in the last singles match of the day. 

 

The win over Clarks Summit ended the regular season for Penn State Harrisburg. The Lions are set to compete in this weekend's 2022 United East Tournament at the Hershey Racquet Club. The Blue & White earned the conference's No. 2 seed and will face off against No. 3 Lancaster Bible in the semifinal round on Saturday night, April 30 at 6 p.m.
