Men's Tennis Wins Rain-Shortened Match Against Messiah

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis team earned a 5-1 victory over Messiah University at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon, April 8.

 

The Blue & White went for 2-for-3 in doubles, as Caleb Fockens and Sachin Venkatesh defeated Chase Wilson and Connor Rose (8-6) in the top contest before Nick Rohn and Andrew Schreck conquered Josh Gingerich and Michael Sell (8-3) in the No. 2 matchup. 

 

In singles action, Penn State Harrisburg swept the Falcons beginning with Fockens beating Wilson in the top match (6-0, 6-1). In the No. 2 contest, Venkatesh went over Rose (6-4, 6-3), while Aaron Krasley earned a 6-0, 7-5 win against Sell in the No. 3 outing. Schreck, Rohn and Derwin Merca were all in action, but the rain began to fall and the contests finished without a winner. 

 

The Lions are set for a conference matchup at Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon, April 9. The first serve will start at 1 p.m.
