Men's Tennis Soars Past St. Elizabeth

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team swept St. Elizabeth at home on Saturday afternoon, March 26.  

 

The Lions (3-3) went 3-for-3 in doubles competition, with Caleb Fockens and Sachin Venkatesh cruising to an 8-0 victory over Stephen V-Torres and Wallnier Perez in the No. 1 doubles contest, Nick Rohn and Andrew Schreck beating Kanta Tachiki and Michael Cadarid in the No. 2 match, and in the No. 3 outing, Tyr Abendschoen and Evan Stillwell defeated Jovani Amador and Lylan Lighty. 

 

The home team continued to impress in singles action, beginning with Aaron Krasley conquering V-Torres in the top singles match (6-2, 6-1). Nick Rohn went over Perez 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 2 contest, while Derwin Merca earned a 6-0, 6-0 win against Tachiki in the No. 3 outing. Abendschoen jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the No. 4 matchup before Cadarid bowed out. Rishikesh Singh rolled in the No. 5 match, besting Amador 6-0, 6-0 and Casey Detwiler handled Delon Phillips 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth contest. 

 

The Blue & White host Messiah for a non-conference match at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Wednesday afternoon, March 30. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
