Men's Tennis Falls to Susquehanna In Fall Finale

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2021-22 schedule with a 6-3 loss to Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 9.

 

Caleb Fockens and Nick Rohn paired up for the first time this season and came away with a hard-fought 8-7 (8-6) victory over SU's Emil Vyskocil and Conor Ryan in the No. 1 doubles contest but the hometown River Hawks took two of three in doubles play to open the match.

 

Fockens' strong play continued in singles action, as he handled Vyskocil 6-3, 6-0 in the top singles contest. Sachin Venkatesh also came away with a solo victory, defeating Susquehanna's Tim Basta 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 in the No. 3 singles outing.

 

Barring any rescheduling with Elizabethtown or Misericordia, Penn State Harrisburg's fall season is in the books. The Lions will return to action when the spring portion of their schedule begins in March of 2022.
