Men's Tennis Sweeps CSU  to Wrap Up Regular Season

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis concluded its regular season with a convincing 9-0 sweep of Clarks Summit at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon, April 23.

 

The Lions rolled through doubles play, with Sachin Venkatesh and Nick Rohn defeating Evan Griffen and Andrew Taft 8-0 in the top contest, Alex Kurtz and Alex Rohn handling Roman Chastain and Thomas Ord 8-1 in the second matchup, and Ryan McGlynn and Mohammed Azlmat picking up an 8-0 sweep over Joel Kessler and Brody Johnson in the No. 3 outing.

 

It was more of the same in singles action, with Venkatesh earning a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 1 spot and N. Rohn topping Taft 6-2, 6-0 in the second matchup. Kurtz bested Chastain 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 3 contest, A. Rohn went over Kessler 6-0, 6-2 in the fourth match, McGlynn defeated Ord 6-1, 6-1 in the fifth outing, and Casey Detwiler rounded things out with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Johnson in the No. 6 contest.

 

The Blue & White finish the regular season at 2-3 overall and will return to action when they travel to Penn State Berks for their first match of the 2021 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament on Tuesday afternoon, April 27.
