Men's Tennis Edges Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After a rough go of things one day prior, Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis rebounded nicely with a 5-4 victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Penn College on Sunday afternoon, April 18.

In doubles action, Alex Kurtz teamed with Ryan McGlynn to earn what would prove to be a crucial 8-0 win over Zack Burkhart and Grayson Tanner in the No. 2 contest.

Trailing 2-1 overall entering singles play, the Blue & White needed every victory they got to clinch the narrow team win. Kurtz erased an early deficit to defeat Jesse Kight 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 2 matchup, while Alex Rohn had an easier time in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Burkhart in the No. 3 outing. Ryan McGlynn took down Tommy Cavanagh 6-1, 6-0 in the fifth contest, while Casey Detwiler handled Tanner 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 6 matchup.

The Lions will look to build off Sunday's victory when they host Penn State Berks at the Hoverter Tennis Complex for another conference contest on Tuesday afternoon, April 20.
