Men's Tennis Edges Moravian In Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2018-19 schedule with a hard-fought 5-4 victory over Moravian on day one of the squad's spring break trip in South Carolina on Sunday afternoon, March 3.

The Lions (5-1) opened the match by sweeping doubles play, with Isaac George and Sachin Venkatesh earning an 8-2 win in the No. 1 contest, Hyun Jun Kwon and Austin Stehman picking up an 8-4 decision in the No. 2 outing, and Jared Gluck and Alex Kurtz clinching an 8-4 victory in the third match to give the Blue & White a nice cushion heading into singles action.

Kwon defeated the Greyhounds' Austin Grace 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 3 solo match, while Stehman handled Moravian's Neil Guarino 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 5 contest. The pair of singles wins proved the deciding factor in giving Penn State State Harrisburg the overall team victory.

The Blue & White return to action against Waynesburg on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.
