WASHINGTON, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team erupted for its second-highest scoring output of the season in a convincing 6-1 non-conference victory at Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday night, Oct. 11.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (5-4-5) got back over the .500 mark in dominant fashion by erasing an early one-goal deficit and creating plenty of separation in Tuesday night's win over Washington & Jefferson (3-5-4). Daniel Fombu and Kobe Harris led the way with two goals apiece.

Before the Penn State Harrisburg offense roared to life, it was the hometown Presidents who struck first with the game's initial goal just 1:46 into the contest.

Once the Lions broke through, however, the flood gates opened in a big way. Fombu netted the equalizer in the 17th minute off a Jaden Longdon assist and Harris gave the visitors a lead they wouldn't relinquish with back-to-back markers in the 26th and 31st minutes. Penn State Harrisburg added another score late in the first half when James Manns converted a penalty kick with less than two minutes to play before the break.

The second half saw the momentum carry over when Aiden O'Sullivan connected on an attempt that pushed the advantage to four in the 57th minute and Fombu capped the game's scoring with his second strike of the night just six minutes later.

NOTABLES

- With his two goals, Fombu moved into third place on the program's career points list (52).

- Fombu currently leads the Lions with five markers on the season.

- Thanks to his pair of goals, Harris improved his total to four on the year.

- O'Sullivan recorded three total points behind a goal and an assist.

- Manns' marker was the second of the fall.

- The Lions outshot W&J 29-to-5 overall and 16-to-3 in shots on target.

WHO'S NEXT?

The Lions travel to Bridgewater (Va.) for another non-conference outing on Saturday afternoon.
