Men's Soccer Climbs Into USC Regional Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team has entered the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III Regional Rankings for the second time this season. 

 

The Lions (9-2-6, 6-0-2 United East) climbed back into the rankings fresh off a shutout victory over conference rival St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon. The team is currently riding an 11-game unbeaten streak dating back to Sept. 17.

 

Stevens holds the top spot in the region, Montclair State earned the runner-up position, and New York University (NYU) ranks third. Fellow United East squad Lancaster Bible sits fourth in the region, Misericordia rounds out the top five, Lycoming is sixth, and Rowan ranks No. 7.

 

As a team, Penn State Harrisburg currently ranks top-20 in the nation in a number of statistical categories, including scoring offense (3.41), shot accuracy (.620), points per game (9.24), total goals (58), total points (157), goal differential (38), shots on goal per game (9.29), total assists (41), and assists per game (2.41). 

 

The two-time defending conference champions will have a chance to go for three straight titles when they take part in this weekend's United East Tournament. The second-seeded Lions will face third-seed Lancaster Bible in semifinal action on Friday night, Nov. 4. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
