Men's Soccer Clinches Playoff Berth With Win at Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team clinched a postseason berth with a decisive 5-1 victory at United East foe Morrisville on Saturday night, Oct. 22.

 

Daryl Lucas tallied five total points thanks to a pair of goals and an assist, while Tyler Madairy, Marc Rodgers, and Kobe Harris found the back of the net once apiece. Luke Myers also recorded a pair of assists.

 

The Lions (8-2-6, 5-0-2 United East) took an early lead when Madairy finished off a touch from Harris in the 13th minute and Rodgers doubled the advantage with a marker that came courtesy of Myers' first assist in the 32nd minute.

 

The 2-0 lead held heading into halftime and Penn State Harrisburg doubled it again with back-to-back goals during a 30-second span. Harris converted the first in the 57th minute off a Lucas feed before Lucas got into the scoring act off a find from Rodgers just 28 seconds later. Lucas capped the game's scoring with his second of the night compliments of another Myers assist, this time in the 69th minute.

- Penn State Harrisburg is now riding a 10-game unbeaten streak.

- Saturday's contest was Lucas' first multi-goal game of the season.

- Harris' marker was his team-leading ninth of the year.

- Thanks to his pair of assists, Myers increased his team-leading total to eight on the fall.

- The Lions outshot the Mustangs 17-4 overall and 11-3 in shots on goal.

- Penn State Harrisburg finished with a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
