ROSEMONT, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team battled to its first victory of the young season; a 3-2 win at Rosemont on Wednesday night, Sept. 7.

The Lions (1-0-2) jumped out to a first-half lead, absorbed some body shots late in the contest, and held on for the hard-fought victory that saw a combined seven cards, including a pair of red cards for the hometown Ravens (2-1).

Ethan Cortes got the scoring started for Penn State Harrisburg, finishing off a feed from Kobe Harris in the 18th minute. Harris got into the scoring act himself and doubled the visitors' advantage less than two minutes later when he found the back of the net off an assist from Luke Myers.

Rosemont cut the deficit in half when Sean Milelli scored early in the second half but the Lions held off the Ravens' potential push long enough for Daniel Fombu to add an insurance marker with little more than 11 minutes remaining off Harris' second assist of the game.

The home team drew within one when Matt Pattison converted a penalty kick late in the contest but with just 1:27 left to play, Rosemont's last gasp proved too little too late.
