Men's Soccer Jumps to No. 20 In USC National Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer continues to make moves in the national rankings, as the Lions are up four spots to No. 20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III Top 25 Poll. The Blue & White also climbed to No. 2 in the organization's regional rankings. 

  

After handing previously unbeaten No. 2 Messiah its first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, the Lions (13-1-1, 8-0 United East) leapt four spots in the national poll. Penn State Harrisburg also moved up to the No. 2 spot in the USC's Region IV rankings. Montclair State remains atop the region, while Rutgers-Newark ranks one spot behind the Blue & White. New York University (NYU) sits at No. 4 in the region and Kean rounds out the top five. Penn State Harrisburg has faced three nationally and regionally-ranked teams this season in Messiah, St. Mary's (Md.), and Franklin & Marshall, winning two of those contests. 

  

After 15 regular season games, the Blue & White lead the country in assists per game (4.07) and rank top-five nationally in points per game (11.53), scoring offense (3.73), shots on goal per game (11.6), and total assists (61). 

  

With the regular season behind them, the Lions will turn their attention to this weekend's United East Championship Tournament. Penn State Harrisburg, the top seed, will host the two-day tournament beginning on Friday night, Nov. 5. The Blue & White take on Penn State Abington in the opening contest at 5 p.m.
