Albers Earns Second Conference Weekly Recognition

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his stellar play in a pair of wins last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Michael Albers has been named the United East Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Albers helped lead No. 25 Penn State Harrisburg to a pair of victories that clinched 2021 United East Regular Season Championship. In a 3-0 win at Lancaster Bible on Wednesday, the graduate student headed home the game-winning goal early in the second half. The Southampton, Pa. native followed it up by burying another marker and adding a helper in a 3-1 win over Penn State Berks on Saturday night. For the week, the defender tallied five total points thanks to two goals and an assist. It is the second time this season Albers has earned the conference's weekly award after securing the same recognition in early September.

The Lions return to action when they host Berkeley (N.Y.) on Tuesday night, Oct. 26. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
