Myers Named Defensive Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his performance in a pair of wins last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Luke Myers has been named the United East Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

In a 2-0 shutout victory over Juniata on Tuesday night, Myers helped lead a back line that allowed just two total shots for the game. In addition to his defensive prowess, the junior added an assist in the win over the Eagles. The Millerstown, Pa. native followed it up with another strong effort in a 7-1 drubbing of Gallaudet on Saturday, combining with the rest of the team's defenders to surrender just one shot in the decisive victory.

The Lions return to action when they host Penn State Berks for a United East tilt on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
