Men's Soccer Continues to Receive Votes In National Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second week in a row, Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III Top 25 Poll. The Lions also held steady at No. 3 in the organization's regional rankings this week.

 

Fresh off a shutout victory over Juniata in non-conference play, the Lions (9-1-1, 5-0 United East) continued to earn votes just outside the national ranking's top 25. The Blue & White also held tight to the No. 3 spot in the USC's Region IV rankings. New York University (NYU) holds the top spot in the region, while Montclair State earned the runner-up position. Misericordia ranks one spot behind the Lions at No. 4 and Rowan rounds out the top five. Penn State Harrisburg has faced two nationally and regionally-ranked teams this season in Franklin & Marshall and St. Mary's (Md.).

 

Through 10 games, the Blue & White lead the nation in points per game (12.09), assists per contest (4.45), and total assists (49). shots on goal per game (12.25). They also rank top five in goal differential, scoring offense, shots per game, shot on goal per game, and total points.

 

The Lions return to United East play when they travel to face conference foe Gallaudet Saturday afternoon, Oct. 16. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
