Both sides would then settle in to a physical first half that saw 18 fouls called. The Lions would not get another clean look at the goal until the 44th minute, when Leifdon Pratchett found some open space in the box. Partchett could not convert however, and the game went to the half tied.

Ethan Hoover would get the offense going in the second half when he scored a beautiful goal striking the ball off a bounce into the back of the net, putting the Lions ahead 2-0. Joey Aman would then capitalize on a foul in the box, scoring on a penalty kick to put the Lions ahead 3-0.
