Four Lions Earn All-Conference Honors

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- Four Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes were named men's soccer all-conference selections by the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) on Wednesday, Nov. 2.  Senior forward Ian Lake (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) and senior defender Caleb Hoppes (Harrisburg, PA/Middletown) were named as first team all-conference picks.  Senior defender Brendan Garner (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) was chosen as a second team all-conference selection while senior midfielder Jonathan Joseph (Miramer, FL/Summerset) earned third team all-conference honors.

Lake led the team in goals scored with eight, including three game-winners, and also added three assists during the course of the 2011 campaign.  The forward earned the impressive first team honors despite missing three games due to military commitments.

Hoppes, one of the team's captains this season, started all 15 games – the only Lion to do so.  Despite playing defense, he notched one goal and added an assist.

Garner, another of the team's 2011 captains, played in every game this season and started all but one.   A defender by trade, he still managed to score two goals and record two assists.

Joseph, second behind Lake in terms of Penn State Harrisburg's leading goal scorers, notched five scores on just seven shots this season, including two game winners.
