Lions Pick Up Third-Straight Win

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Lead by Danny Francis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and Ian Lake (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff), the Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer team captured their third consecutive win of the season against the Mount Aloysius College Mounties. In another dominating performance, the Lions outscored the Mounties 5-1, allowing only a single shot on goal, resulting in their lone score, in the 90 minute game.

The Lions started off strong with an unassisted Francis goal at the 79 minute mark. Soon following, Josh Clinger (East Petersburg, PA/Hempfield) added an unassisted goal of his own, his third of the season, bringing the score to 2-0. Junior transfer Lake, added a goal at the end of the first period, assisted by Brendan Garner (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin), and an unassisted second goal at the beginning of the second period. The lone Mount Aloysius goal came at the 26 minute mark from Curtis Brumbaugh when he found a break in the Lion defense opening up the only scoring opportunity of the game for the Mounties. Francis finished off the game strong for the Lions scoring the fifth and final goal of the evening with 24 minutes remaining in the contest.

The Lions, 3-0, will travel to Philadelphia, PA to face Philadelphia Biblical University on Saturday, September 11 at 2:00 PM.
