Nittany Lions Win In Impressive Fashion, 8-1

MIDDLETOWN, PA - Danny Francis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) not only scored four goals in the 8-1 victory over conference rival, Penn State Berks, but he also broke the single season record for most goals by one player Wednesday night at the Penn State Harrisburg soccer field.

Francis scored the first goal in the opening five minutes of play, quickly followed up by his second goal in the 8th minute via a Michael Urich(Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) assist.

Number 9 and the Nittany Lions did not stop there, scoring in the 27th minute, Francis via Chad Guenthner (Palmyra, PA/ Palmyra) and Urich, the 31st minute, penalty kick by Nik Light (Jonestown, PA/Northern Lebanon), and in the 32nd minute, penalty kick from Guenthner. Penn State Harrisburg claimed a commanding 5-1 lead at halftime with the sole goal from Berks coming from Casey Correa via Eric Moller.

In the second half a goal from Urich via Jeff Duke (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon), a goal from Light via Chris Ertle (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), and Francis´ four goal of the night sealed the overwhelming victory.

The Nittany Lions improve to 3-9 on the season and travel to Keuka College this Saturday, October 10 with their match immediately following women´s soccer.
