The Mighty Macs edge out Lions, 2-1

MIDDLETOWN, PA - With the score in favor of the Mighty Macs,1-0, Michael Urich (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) tailed his first career goal, assisted by Joshua Christ (Ephrata, PA/Living Word Academy), in the 55th minute to tie the game at one a piece. Immaculata University´s Kyle Craig scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to give the Mighty Macs a 2-1 victory over Penn Harrisburg Saturday afternoon.

Craig collected a rebound off the Lion defender in the front end of the box, lined up the shot and blasted it pass Lion goalkeeper Toan Ngo(Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) at the 81:50 mark, giving the blue and white their first lost on the season.

Penn State Harrisburg held the edge in shots and corner kicks but it was a big save by Immaculata goalkeeper, Stone Gahagan, in the 79th minute on a penalty kick to keep the score knotted up 1-1. The physical match-up saw a combined 33 fouls and two yellow cards assessed.

Ngo finished with six saves in defeat while Gahagan stopped seven of Harrisburg´s shots.

Harrisburg returns to action on Monday, September 7, for a 4:00 PM game at Haverford College.
