MIDDLETOWN, PA - The returning all-conference players, Joshua Christ(Ephrata, PA/Living Word Academy) and Danny Francis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts), put out an impressive showing against Valley Forge Christian College with a combined five of the Lions´ six goals in route to a 6-0 victory.
Christ hooked up with teammate, Michael Urich (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land), twice in route to a hat-trick of his own after Lady Lion, Allie Rank, did the same in the women´s game earlier that evening.
With just under five minutes remaining in the first half, Daniel Guillen(San Jose, Costa Rica/American Community) was able to score the blue and white´s fourth goal of the half. Francis and Ernest Ntimoah(Philadelphia, PA/North East) connected late, second half to put away the Patriots for good.
The Lions out-shot Valley Forge 33-4 on the night and held a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Valley Forge Christian College, 1-1 on the season, looks to turn it around when they face off against Rosemont College on Saturday. The Lions, 1-0 overall, battle Immaculate College on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Penn State Harrisburg.
