Cross Country Competes at LVC's Dutchmen Invitational

LEBANON, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams returned to action at Lebanon Valley's Dutchmen Invitational at Union Canal Tunnel Park on Saturday morning, Sept. 10.

 

The men were led by Jon Carnesi, as his effort of 29:22.10 was good enough to secure an 86th-place finish out of 216 total runners in the 8K race. Samuel Bishop crossed the finish line five spots behind Carnesi with a time of 29:29.10. Mohammed Sakayl just missed out on a top-100 finish with a jaunt of 29:46.30, while Luke Culver, Kaiden Braught, and Nick Spohn rounded out the Penn State Harrisburg contingency.

 

On the women's side, it was Tatyana Gibson leading the way, with her time of 22:35.80 proving strong enough to clinch a 94th-place finish out of 184 total runners in the 5K race. Madison Parks impressed in her collegiate debut and was the team's next-highest finisher in 142nd thanks to her effort of 25:49.20. Dessire Amaya, Abagail Marquardt, and Leah Gray completed the group of Blue & White runners.

 

The Lions will be back in action at Lancaster Bible's Charger Invitational on Friday afternoon, Sept. 16. The event gets underway at 4:15 p.m.
