READING, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team secured their place in the United East playoffs with a 3-0 sweep of Penn State Berks on Wednesday night, Nov. 1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The opening set was a back-and-forth battle from the start between Penn State Harrisburg (11-15, 3-3 UE) and Penn State Berks (7-17, 2-4 UE). Tori Henderson had 6 out of her total 12 kills in the first set to help the Lions win 27-25.

Halfway through the second set, the Blue & White had an eight-point buffer before Penn State Berks went on a 6-0 run to bring the score to 20-18. Although the home team attempted to claw back into it, Penn State Harrisburg was able to bring the set to a close with a kill by Hannah DeGregory assisted by Julia Choe

Thanks to several Penn State Berks' attack errors and another kill from DeGregory, Penn State Harrisburg was able to get out to an early 5-0 lead in the third set. It was a total team effort on offense for the Lions, as six different players contributed to the 15 total kills during the set. The final set saw Penn State Harrisburg dominate both sides of the ball and they were able to hold the hosts to just 15 points.

NOTABLES

- Tori Henderson was impressive on both offense and defense, as she provided 12 kills, 12 digs, and a service ace.
