BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Moravian at Johnston Hall on Tuesday night, Sept. 26. The Lions took an early lead thanks to securing a 25-20 victory in the first set but dropped the next three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-18.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (5-6) was strong out of the gate in Tuesday's match at Moravian (5-7) but couldn't ride that momentum in the later sets as the Lions ultimately came up short in three consecutive games to end the contest.

The Lions jumped out to an 11-4 advantage in the opening set behind kills from Camryn Wettstone and service aces from Tiniira Tubo, Katie Richardson, and Kate Bukowski but the Greyhounds clawed back and cut the deficit to 17-16 midway through the set. The visitors responded with three straight points and eventually closed it out with a 4-0 run capped off by a a Tubo kill.

Set two was close at the midway point as the home team clung to an 11-9 lead before putting together a 10-3 run that Penn State Harrisburg was unable to overcome. The third set was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Lions lead as late as 15-14 during a Madison Balmos service run but Moravian had an answer in the closing moments, scoring the final three points to earn a tight victory and pull ahead overall.

The Greyhounds erupted to begin the fourth set and jumped out to a 15-6 advantage. Trailing by as many as 13 points, Penn State Harrisburg fought back and used an 11-5 run capped by a Tubo block to get back into it but it was too little too late as the home team's cushion proved too much to overcome down the stretch.

NOTABLES

- Tori Henderson finished with a team-high eight kills. Brianna Ondishin Ribon, Hannah DeGregory, and Wettstone added six apiece.

- Richardson tallied 28 assists, six service aces, and a team-best 14 digs.
