TOWSON, Md. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team swept non-conference opponent Goucher on Wednesday night, Oct. 12.

Alyssa Snyder was outstanding in the setter position, which allowed Anna Ruff, Tori Henderson, and Hannah DeGregory to find good hitting opportunities on offense. Defensively, seniors Olivia Koicuba and Snyder combined for 34 digs and Henderson added some of her own as well.

In the beginning set, the tides turned in favor of the Lions when they went on a 6-0 run to make the score 16-8. Emmaline Stevens shined in the first set, where she earned four out of her five total kills on the night. The Gophers did, however, keep Penn State Harrisburg within five points or less for the duration of the set. In the third and final set, Ruff led the way for the Lions on the offensive end, where she produced five kills. Ruff helped Penn State Harrisburg get out to a 10-point lead late in the set, when the score was 20-10. The Lions took the match 25-18, 25-20, and 24-15 to raise their wins to double-digits for the year.
