Lions Win Opening Two Matches

Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball started off the season strong with wins over St. Mary's in a nonconference match up and former NEAC foe Gallaudet.

The Lions defeated St. Mary's in the opener in straight sets. In game two, Penn State battled Gallaudet in an exciting five set match.  The first set was to the wire as the Blue and White claimed a 26-24 win.  Harrisburg found themselves up 2-1 going into the fourth set, but the Bison continued to battle and claimed the only domintating set win 15-25 to force the fifth set. Thankfully the Lions were able to regain their composure when it mattered most and took the fifth and final set 16-14 after trailing most of the set.

It was a great start for Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball.  They took down a conference opponent and battled through a tight contest to start their season 2-0.  The Lions will head back to Gettysburg for the second half of the 2017 Battlefield Classic Saturday September 2nd where Harrisburg will face McDaniel and Hood.
