Lions Split at King's College

The Lady Lion's travelled to King's College today where they took on Gwneydd Mercy and King's in a weekend tri-match.

 

The Lion's came out swinging in their first match of the day, taking home a win against Gwneydd Mercy by a set score of 26-24, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21. Madison Chace (Paso Robles, Ca./Cedar Cliff) came up big with 16 kills; not far behind her though was also Melissa Orlandini (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) with 10 kills in the match. Also leading the way for the Lion's were Kari Ammerman (Troy, Pa./ Troy Area) and Jill Elkins (Louisa, Va./ Louisa County) who led the defense with 32 digs between the two.

 

After taking home the win in the first match, the Lion's looked to sweep the day against King's but came up short, losing by a set score of 25-17, 25-19, 25-20. . Leading the Lady Lion's in the second match was Chace with 10 kills, and Orlandini with 8 kills.

 

After putting up a battle in today's tri-match, the Lady Lion's now sit for the season at 5-5. The Lion's will look to improve that mark, this upcoming week when they host Dickinson College on Monday at 7p.m.
