MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg senior Carla Martin (Manheim, PA/Home Schooled) was named a women's volleyball all-conference selection by the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Martin, the Lions lone senior and one of the team's 2011 captains, was voted to the all-conference third team.
In a year full of injuries and tough losses, Martin was a bright spot for Penn State Harrisburg. A four-year player, she only got better as her career wore on. In her last season sporting the blue and white, Martin played in all 32 matches and racked up the best overall statistics of her career.
Offensively, she recorded 38 kills, 15 assists and 12 service aces. But being a defensive specialist and libero, it was on the defensive side of things where Martin truly shined. She racked up a career-high 195 digs and five blocks, both good enough for third best on the team.
