Women's Basketball Bounces Back Against Lancaster Bible

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team secured a 82-57 win over United East foe Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 20. 

 

Giahny Correa netted a team-high 22 points, while Jayla Galbreath wasn't far behind with 21 of her own, all of which were from three-point range. Abril Bowser was the third player to reach the double-digit scoring mark with a dozen points. Ciani Redd-Howard nearly had a double-double, finishing with eight points and a team-high eight rebounds. 

 

NOTABLES

- The Lions shot 35 percent from beyond the arc and held Lancaster Bible to just 15.4 percent from three. 

- Correa tallied a team-high 22 points and grabbed five rebounds. 

- Galbreath buried seven threes to score 21 points and added five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

- Bowser finished with 10 points and a pair of assists and steals. 

- Redd-Howard led the team with eight rebounds and earned three steals.

- Jenna Montana and Nicole Hernandez both finished with seven points. 

- Ali Lister added seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals. 

 

ORANGE 4 OWEN

Saturday night's contest against Lancaster Bible served as the annual Orange 4 Owen game thanks to the support of Mark and Karen Brezitski. Owen's Foundation was born out of a tragedy to honor their son, Owen Brezitski, who at the age of eight was killed by a distracted driver in front of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa. The goal of Orange 4 Owen is to promote pedestrian, driver, traffic, and childhood safety and all aspects of community safety as well as raise awareness of the consequences of distracted driving practices.
