LANCASTER, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team held off a well-balanced Lancaster Bible squad and its late comeback attempt in a 73-65 United East victory at the Horst Athletic Center on Wednesday night, Feb. 14.

Jayla Galbreath led the way with a team-high 16 points, while Giahny Correa followed closely behind with 14 points to go along with six rebounds. Abril Bowser finished with 13 points and three assists and Ali Lister led the team with seven rebounds to go along with six points.

The Lions (14-11, 11-1 United East) were up 13-11 late in the first quarter before Galbreath and Bowser fueled a 12-point run as they traded off two triples each in impressive fashion. Just before halftime, Lancaster Bible (8-16, 6-6 United East) went on a solid 9-0 run of its own to bring the deficit to within five points with 1:52 remaining.

Lister and Ciani Redd-Howard scored the first four points of the second half but the home team answered with two consecutive 3-pointers which drew the Chargers to within 42-40. The third quarter proved a back-and-forth battle between the two teams but the Lions never let the Chargers take the lead throughout the entirety of the contest.

With 6:10 left in the fourth quarter, the Blue & White were leading 63-52 until Lancaster Bible scored 11 straight points to draw even and keep the Chargers in the game. Bailey Oehmig helped to halt the home team's momentum with a 3-ball from the right wing and with just under two minutes remaining in the contest, Galbreath beat her defender and laid in a right-handed layup to put the Lions up by five. Nearly 45 seconds later, Bowser put the game on ice with a 3-pointer from the left wing.
