FREDERICK, Md. - After a nearly three week layoff, Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team returned to action with a narrow 68-65 non-conference setback at Hood on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 28.

Giahny Correa and Jayla Galbreath accounted for 63 percent of the team's scoring output, with Correa matching a game-high 22 points and Galbreath hitting six 3-pionters to finish with 19 of her own. Ali Lister added eight points to go along with five steals and four rebounds.

After falling behind by as many as nine points early in the third quarter, the Lions (4-9) erased the deficit with a key 19-8 run to end the frame. Galbreath went 2-for-2 from distance in the third and Correa tallied six points in period to give the visitors a slim 54-52 advantage heading into the fourth.

The final quarter was a back-and-forth affair that saw Penn State Harrisburg pull ahead by three with 3:16 left to play following a Correa layup. Hood (1-8) made the key plays down the stretch, however, turning a steal into a pair of free throws before pulling ahead by one with a jumper with 2:48 remaining.

The Lions got a good look at a 3-ball with little more than a minute left but failed to convert and the Blazers made them pay with a layup on the other end to stretch the lead to three with 1:03 left to play. The visitors had a chance to draw even with an open 3-point attempt with 27 seconds remaining but it missed the mark and Hood held on for the slim victory.
