ABINGTON, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team led wire to wire in a convincing 80-46 road victory over United East foe Penn State Abington on Wednesday night, Feb. 8.

Jayla Galbreath scored a game-high 17 points, while Ciani Redd-Howard added 13 of her own. Kendis Butler was the third player to reach double figures with 11 points.

In a game in which Penn State Abington (6-15, 4-10 United East) never led, the visiting Lions (13-9, 10-3 United East) were well on pace to record their highest single-game point total of the season before taking the foot off the gas in the second half. Butler opened the game's scoring with a driving layup and the visitors never looked back, shooting 58.3 percent from beyond the arc in the opening quarter and jumping out to a 31-14 lead after one.

Galbreath opened the second with a layup and Butler knocked down another 3-ball to push the lead to 20 with 7:08 left before halftime. Galbreath tacked on an old-fashioned 3-point play, Redd-Howard converted back-to-back buckets, and Olivia Richardson added a pair of free throws to make it 52-23 at the break.

The visitors pushed the advantage past 30 thanks to a Bailey Oehmig early in the third quarter and coasted into the final frame where they took their largest lead of the night following a Macy Carroll layup with four minutes left to play. Penn State Harrisburg conceded possessions for clock from there on out before exiting with the win.
