olivia richardson goes up for a layup during a win over morrisville in 2023

LANCASTER, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team saw its recent seven-game win streak come to an end when it suffered its first conference setback of the season, falling 67-63 at United East foe Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 28.

Olivia Richardson netted a team-high 14 points, while Jayla Galbreath added a dozen. Kendis Butler and Giahny Correa added eight points apiece.

Trailing by two entering the final quarter, the Lions (11-7, 8-1 United East) pulled ahead on three separate occasions following layups by Correa and Richardson, as well as a Bailey Oehmig free throw midway through the frame. Unfortunately, the visitors were unable to come up with a stop down the stretch and the Chargers (11-6, 6-3 United East) hit back-to-back 3-balls to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish with less than three minutes remaining.

Penn State Harrisburg raced out to an 11-2 advantage through the first four minutes of the contest but LBC answered with a 16-4 run to pull ahead 18-15 early in the second quarter. Butler converted a layup off a Jenna Montana find to beat the first half buzzer and give the visitors a 38-37 edge heading into the break before a back-and-forth third quarter ended with the home team clinging to a two-point advantage.
