WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team racked up its highest point total of the season in a 93-53 road victory over United East foe Gallaudet in the team's conference opener on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3.

Kendis Butler knocked down seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high 25 points and Makayla Claggett netted 15 off the bench. Bailey Oehmig and Macy Carroll added eight points apiece, while Jayla Galbreath finished with seven points and a game-high eight assists.

Butler jumpstarted the offense by knocking down her first two attempts from beyond the arc to begin the game before adding another to moments later to put the Lions (4-4, 1-0 United East) ahead 11-2 in the early going. Later in the opening frame, Claggett was fouled burying a 3-ball and converted the ensuing free throw to push the advantage to 25-5 at the 2:57 mark.

Penn State Harrisburg led 28-12 after one and back-to-back triples from Olivia Richardson and Butler early in the second quarter stretched the lead to 36-14. A Mikayla Wright layup at the 4:59 mark pushed the advantage to 30 for the first time and back-to-back layups from Butler to end the half made it 52-21 heading into the break.

It was more of the same in the third quarter, with another Butler 3-ball midway through the frame pushing the lead to 40-plus for the first time. Oehmig converted consecutive layups to make it 76-29, the largest margin of the day, at the 2:33 mark before 3-pointers from Carroll and Sydney Hemler midway through the fourth quarter put a bow on the dominant victory.
