Lady Lions Halt Flight of The Phoenix

The Blue and White women's basketball team won their third straight game as they cruised through the Wilson Phoenix 89-46.  Miranda Zeanchock (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights), Amanda Moyer (Carlisle, Pa. /Cumberland Valley), and Kiara Carter (Bronx, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) all brought sizeable games on route to another solid win. 

The Lady Lions started the game with a 23-6 run that would set the tone for the entire night of basketball.   Zeanchock led the team tonight sharp shooting for 24 points.  Harrisburg kept the pressure on the entire first half and scored a lot of points in transition as they passed the ball quick and sharp helping them grab a first half lead of 57-22. 

Harrisburg took the entire halftime break to get ready and brought the same first half intensity from the start of the second half whistle as the lions went on a 7-0 run to begin the half. 

Moyer and Carter both earned themselves double-double's on the night.  Carter showed her size and strength pulling 15 rebounds while dominating the paint.  Moyer continues to lead with her scoring and rebounding as she plays with constant poise game after game. 

Coach Patrick utilized his entire team tonight as the level of play remained high until the final whistle.  Jasmine Yanich (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township) led the bench scorers with 14. The lions finished with a 89-46 win. 

Harrisburg moves to 7-2 in conference play and will travel to Penn State Abington alongside the men's team Sunday Afternoon.
