Ladies Win Again, Take Possession of Third Place

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - On Sunday, the Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lions extended their conference win streak to six games by beating the visiting SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers, 60-45. The Lady Lions improved to 11-5 and 10-3 in conference standings. Daril Foose (Altoona, PA/Altoona) led the Lady Lions in points for the second time this weekend with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Lady Lions gained the lead at the 15:46 mark in the first half and never relinquished to take the 27-24 lead into the break. Penn State Harrisburg made up for an average shooting effort by hitting the glass to grab 25 first half rebounds.

The Lady Lions shooting improved in the second half, knocking in 4-for-7 from the arc to outscore SUNY Cobleskill 33-21. SUNY Cobleskill kept the game close with their dominant post presence. The Tigers scored 30 of their 45 total points in the paint led by forward Kaitlin Myers who notched 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

Also in double figures for the Lady Lions were Miranda Zeanchock (Carroltown, PA/Cambria) and Amanda Moyer (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) who each contributed 10 points. Standing at 5'3'', Dorothea Dixon (Middletown, PA/Middletown) grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Lady Lions will return to NEAC action next weekend at Morrisville State on Saturday, January 29th at 12:00 PM and at Cazenovia College on Sunday, January 30th at 12:00 PM.
