Ladies Knock-Off Nationally-Ranked Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Saturday, February 12, the Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lions upset the #18 team in the nation, Gallaudet University, 64-53, to end the Bison's 20-game win streak. Daril Foose (Altoona, PA/Altoona) paced the Lady Lions to victory with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Both teams battled through the first half exchanging points to keep the game close. Neither team led by more than five points through the first half. For the first time this season, Gallaudet entered the break with the disadvantage as the Lady Lions snagged a one point lead.

In the second half the Lady Lions found their shooting rhythm connecting on 4-of-9 three-pointers and shooting 42.9% from the floor. Monet Cunningham (Highspire, PA/Bishop McDevitt) recorded 10 of her 12 points in the second half and grabbed four rebounds.

Miranda Zeanchock (Carroltown, PA/Cambria Heights) hit a trifecta with 15:15 remaining in the second half to give Penn State Harrisburg the lead which they would never relinquish. The Lady Lions led by as many as 12 and finished the game with an 11 point victory.

The Lady Lions held Gallaudet All-American Easter Faafiti to 18 points, over two points below her season average. Tandy Lewis contributed 11 points and seven rebounds for the Bison.

Gallaudet's loss drops the Bison to second in NEAC standings and Keuka College takes the first place position. Penn State Harrisburg remains in third place but closed the gap with the upset victory.

The Lady Lions return to the hardwood on Wednesday, February 16 when they travel to Penn State Berks for a 6:00PM tip-off.
