Ladies Drop Regular Season Finale to Keuka

Ladies Drop Regular Season Finale to Keuka

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The energy in the building was overwhelming and it was obvious that both teams came to win. Visiting Keuka College took advantage of a poor Lady Lion shooting effort came out on top with a 63-54 win. Freshman Miranda Zeanchock (Carroltown, PA/Cambria) led the Lady Lions with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Lady Lions got off to a slow start as Keuka scored the first five points of the game. The teams went on to exchange buckets until the 12:10 minute mark when the Lady Lions started a 14-5 run spurred by a pair of Daril Foose (Altoona, PA/Altoona) free throws. The Lady Lions entered the break with a 29-25 advantage.

Once again, the Lady Lions were sluggish out of halftime. Two back-to-back Keuka lay-ups forced a Penn State Harrisburg time out. The Storm had the hot hand in the second half, shooting 53.8% from the floor. With 5:11 left in the half, the Lady Lions found themselves on the bad side of an 11-point deficit that they would never recover from.  Keuka forward Mariah Mouzon led the Storm to victory with a huge 15-point, 4-rebound second half. Keuka improved to 22-2 on the season and have earned a second place seed in the NEAC conference tournament.

Foose finished Sunday's contest with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Lady Lions finished the regular season with a 17-8 record giving them the #3 seed for the NEAC championship tournament. The Gallaudet University Bison will host the NEAC championship tournament as the regular season champions.  Check the Penn State Harrisburg Athletics website, Facebook page or Twitter page for more information!
