Lions Pick Up Third-Straight Conference Victory

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team kicked off a weekend of NEAC competition on the right foot with a 76-49 win over the visiting Cazenovia College Wildcats. The Lady Lions improved to 8-5, 7-3 NEAC with Saturday's win.

The Lady Lions have consistently used balanced scoring efforts to overcome their opponents and Saturday's game was no different. By the end of the first half, the Lady Lions had eight different players on the scoreboard.  Stephanie Yetter (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) led all Penn State Harrisburg scorers with 12 points for the day. Daril Foose(Altoona, PA/Altoona) registered her third double-double of season scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Miranda Zeanchock (Carroltown, PA/Cambria) also added 11 points in the winning effort.

Penn State Harrisburg hopped out to a quick 17-6 lead and continued their offensive dominance through the half. The Lady Lions entered the break with a 48-22 advantage and opened the second half with the same intensity that propelled them to that lead. Cazenovia scored just 4 points in the first seven minutes of play and committed a slew of turnovers leading to a handful of Penn State buckets.

Cazenovia struggled to find their rhythm and shot just 25.8% from the floor. Jessica Converse led the Wildcats with 15 points while Christy Foster added 7 and grabbed 13 rebounds.

The Lady Lions will continue their NEAC weekend tomorrow, Sunday, January 16, as they host Morrisville State at 12:00PM.
