Strong Post Presence Lifts Gallaudet Over Lions

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lions fell to undefeated Gallaudet University, 66-76, Saturday and dropped to 3-2 in conference play. Daril Foose (Altoona, PA/Altoona) paced the Lady Lions with 18 points and 5 rebounds.

 The Lady Lions came out strong in the first half, keeping up with Gallaudet point for point. At the break the Bison had a four point advantage, 28-24. Gallaudet scored 20 of their 28 points in the paint as forward Nukeitra Hays paced the way with 10 points.

The game remained close through the second half but the Bison led the entire way. A layup by Amanda Moyer (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) brought the Bison's lead to three with ten minutes left in the half. Gallaudet stand-out Easter Faafiti responded with six straight points to extend the Bison's lead.

Faafiti led the Bison with a double-double scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Gallaudet had three other scorers in double figures. Shaquana McDonough added 14, Britny Latham, 11, and Zamica Gage contributed 12.

Foose had a big second half scoring 12 of her 18 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. Freshman Brittani Guerre (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mountain West) went 5-9 from the floor scoring 10 points and dishing out 3 assists. Brittany Adams also added 10 points in Saturday's loss.

The Lady Lions will take a break from game action for finals and will return to the court on January 4th as they travel to Penn State Abington for tip-off at 7:30 PM
