Foose has Career High in Defeat

READING, PA - The Penn State Harrisburg women´s basketball team lost Saturday, January 16th against the hosting Lions of Penn State Berks, 72-51, despite a career high 23-point performance from freshman forward Daril Foose (Altoona, PA/Altoona).

The first half featured hot shooting on both ends of the court with Harrisburg holding a slight lead over Berks, 46.7 to 44.1, in shooting percentage. It would be a Nicola Zangari (Etters, PA/Red Land) buzzer beating jump shot which brought the Lady Lions within four at intermission, 39-35.

The Lady Lions would pull within two with 17:21 remaining, 42-40, but Berks would prove to be too strong, outrebounding the blue and white 32-18, as well as outscoring them 33-16 in the second half.

Foose would go 10-for-18 from the field en route to her 23-point feat, as well as collecting five rebounds, three steals and one block. Freshman Stephanie Yetter (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) contributed six points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals in the 72-51 defeat.

Courtney Bailey and Jasmine Harris-Kane would led their team combing for 42 of the team´s 72 points with Bailey tailing 20 rebounds, five steals and two blocks with Harris-Kane collecting seven rebounds, six assists and seven steals.

The 5-8 Lady Lions travel to Camden, New Jersey this Wednesday, January 20th to face-off against the 2-12 Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
